X-ray Photoelectron Spectrometer
X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is associated with the analysis of the energy of electrons present in the atoms, molecules and compounds. Elemental and chemical information of top few atomic layers of conducting as well as insulating materials can be obtained. The surface sensitivity of the technique enables the study of the interfaces and analyzing surfaces that are of few nanometer thickness.
