Sol-gel process
Sol-gel process is a versatile wet-chemical green technique for the preparation of various functional coatings. Sol-gel coatings are generally fabricated by spraying, spin-coating or dip coating methods. This process has been used for the fabrication of corrosion resistant coatings, superhydrophobic/oleophobic coatings, antireflection coatings and pressure sensitive paints. An automated spraying system with rotating table has been used for the fabrication of coatings on A4 size substrates to get reproducible thickness.
