His main research interest is in the area of nano-materials for energy storage/harvesting and studying the structure-property relations in these materials. The  systems of investigation encompass high dielectric constant materials for solid state  supercapacitor,  nano-materials for Li-ion battery cathodes and  high performance materials for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC). He has developed nanostructured functional coatings for intermediate temperature SOFC by using solution precursor plasma spray process.
