Mr. M V Shivaprasad is working as a Scientist at Structural Technologies Division of CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore, India. He has received his bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and Masters in Machine Design from Bangalore University. He has been working in experimental structural dynamics. He has expertise in the fields of system identification, ground vibration testing, In-flight testing, aeroelastic qualification of aircraft and newly integrated stores through flight flutter testing, vibration specification synthesis, and wind tunnel testing of aeroelastic models. In general, other expertise includes data acquisition, selection of flight worthy sensors, signal processing using specialized software’s, developing user defined MATLAB codes, in-flight instrumentation and data evaluation. He has made significant contributions towards national importance aircraft development/upgrade programmes such as SARAS, HANSA, MiG-29, Jaguar, Mirage 2000, Searcher, Dornier and Su-30 MKI aircraft through ground vibration and flight testing. Also, he had experience in active vibration control using piezo actuators, developing semi-active vibration isolators using magnetorheological fluids and developing structural health monitoring methodology through fiber brag grating sensors. Currently interested to work in the field of condition monitoring and structural health assessment using a multisensor concepts. He has published 5 journal papers, 12 conference papers and more than 50 institutional technical/project reports. He has been awarded NAL technology shield once and NAL outstanding award in the project execution category for four times.
