I have obtained my Ph.D degree in 2012 from Mathematical and Computational Science Department , NITK Surthkal. I joined CTFD division NAL in 1993 as a senior research fellow after completing my Masters in Mathematics from the University of Hyderabad. Currently I am working as Principal Scientist. I have been working in the area of numerical simulation of incompressible turbulent flows and mainly responsible for the development of the in-house flow solution code 3D-PURLES which has been used extensively at NAL for CFD analyses of both external and internal turbulent incompressible flows. I was involved in various projects sponsored by DRDO, ISRO, Naval Research Board, AR&BD under which CFD analysis of hydrodynamics applications (Ship Hulls, Torpedoes, Marine Propellers, Sonar Domes etc.) and internal/external aerodynamic applications (Aerostat Balloons, Döpler Weather Radar Radome structures, water tank, bluff bodies, duct, cooling system of airborne radar, wings etc.) have been carried out using 3D-PULRES. Large Eddy Simulation (LES) is one research area which I have working on . LES of flow past circular cylinder formed the major part of my Ph.D research. Transitional modeling for low speed flows was taken up under the NPMICAV and successfully applied for MAV configurations. Since 2008, I was involved in NAL MAV program and as a team leader guided the CFD analysis and understanding of the transition phenomenom of flow past MAV’s. Detached Eddy Simulation (DES) is my ongoing research.
