Unsteady pressure measurement system
A multi-channel unsteady pressure measurement system, in conjunction with high frequency response pressure transducers flush-mounted on the surface of the model, is used to measure unsteady pressures experienced on the surface of a wind tunnel model. The National Instruments based system features individual A to D converters and anti-aliasing filters for data acquisition from each channel. A software has been developed using FFT algorithms for data processing and reduction to obtain amplitude spectrum, root mean square (RMS) value of unsteady pressures and a graphical interface displays raw and processed unsteady pressure data. A wireless data acquisition system also has been recently developed. Such systems have been deployed and unsteady pressure measurements have been made on models of various configurations of launch vehicles, space vehicles and aircraft.
