Her main research areas are  pressure sensitive paint (PSP) and superhydrophobic coatings. She has contributed immensely for the development and validation of PSP. She has developed sol-gel coatings for various functional applications including superhydrophobic coatings, oleophobic coatings and corrosion resistant coatings.  She has also contributed to the development of functionalized hybrid sol-gel layer for improving the thermal stability of solar selective coatings. A new class of sol-gel based corrosion resistant coatings containing various morphologies of ceria nanoparticles for aircraft AA2024 aluminium alloy has been developed by her. Currently she is working on the development of radar absorbing materials (RAM) and coatings for stealth application.
