Nitesh Gupta

Nitesh Gupta is presently working as Principal Scientist in Advanced Composites Division. He joined CSIR-NAL in the year 2001 as Junior Scientist. He Worked as SRF in Electronic and Radar Development Organization DRDO and Lecturer in RKDF Institute of Technology Bhopal before Joining NAL.

He Completed his M.Tech. in Instrumentation (2000), M.Sc in Electronics (1999) from Devi Ahilya University Indoor and B.Sc. Electronics  form Nagpur University (1997) .He carried out his Master’s Thesis  in Society for applied Microwave Electronics Engineering And Research (SAMEER) Mumbai.

He is involved in the research and development of technologies process monitoring for the composite manufacturing and Structural Health Monitoring during the service life of the aircraft structures using Fiber Optic sensors, Quasi distributed and Distributed Fiber Optic  sensing based approach for the damage and load estimation, In flight SHM implementation, Algorithm development and testing  etc. Fiber Optic based Resin Flow front monitoring for VERITy process for Composite manufacturing, Disbond detection using Fiber Bragg Grating Sensors, Flight instrumentation for NISHANT and in flight strain measurement, Impact detection using strain response are some of the key areas he made significant achievements.       

His research efforts has led to one Patent (filed) One Copy right for software and Seven Journal papers  and several national and international conference papers and technical documents. He is a life member of (Indian society for Advancement of materials and Processing Engineering) ISAMPE and Indian Society for Smart Systems (ISSS). He was awarded with CSIR-NAL’s Outstanding Performance Award for Excellence in Research (2006) and Young Scientist Award (2012). He was team member for various awards like K. Suryanarain Rau Memorial Award for Smart Technology Development 2009, ISAMPE Award for the Smart Material and Technology Development 2011, NI Engineering Impact Award runners up 2014 ,NI Engineering Impact Award 2016 and 7th National Awards for Technology Innovation in Petrochemicals & Downstream Plastics Processing Industry 2017
